September Sports Star of the Month

September saw our teams excelling in athletics, volleyball, soccer and cricket. The nominations for Sports Star of the Month are a follows:

Inter-Schools Athletics – our runners more than held their own at the first athletics meeting on Thursday 17 September at the Germiston Stadium. They competed against St Andrews,  Pretoria Girls, Brescia, St Mary’s, Assumption, Holy Rosary and Kingsmead. The following girls are nominated for their notable performances at the event

Kasey Walters 3rd in her 400m
Nadia Calore 3rd in her 200m
Masego Ramatetse 3rd in her 400m
Isabella Maurer 3rd in her 100m
Lindo Sukazi 2nd in her 200m and 3rd in her 100m

Volleyball – Our 1st Team  had a great result in September, coming second at the TUKs tournament. Masedi Ncamane and Okwethu Zwane are nominated for their individual performances within the team’s success.

Soccer – Our junior and senior soccer teams have also enjoyed very good seasons thus far. Both have quarterfinals within the first week of next term. Two 1st Team players are nominated for their performances within the team’s success:
Danica Mellors and Naomi Govender (both in Gr8) have scored 15 goals between them.

Cricket – Congratulations go to the 1st eleven for their 7 wicket win in the Regional Play-off against Hoerskool Driehoek played in Vereeniging on the 11th September. Our sport star for September excelled in that game.

Congratulations to Jenna Searle the Sports Star of the Month for September! Jenna (seen above) took 1 wicket, and a stumping, and then assisted with the run chase by scoring 52 runs, not out in the regional play off game.
